USTDA FEDERAL BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES ANNOUNCEMENTS

The U.S. Trade and Development Agency's competitive opportunities are advertised on the Federal Business Opportunities website (www.eps.gov).

USTDA grant funds are awarded to a foreign project sponsor for feasibility studies and technical assistance on the condition that the sponsor select a U.S. company to perform the work. The official announcement of requests for proposals is published on the fedbizopps website and the point of contact for submitting your proposal is the foreign project sponsor.

USTDA funds are also used to contract directly with U.S. companies for various types of expertise. Contracts for larger dollar amounts are published on the fedbizopps website. The point of contact for submitting your proposal will appear in the fedbizopps announcement.

Trade Development

The U.S. Federal Government provides U.S. exporters with much useful information and other forms of assistance. The Office of International Affairs, in cooperation with USEAC conducts an international business seminar on the second Wednesday of each month from 7:30 - 9 a.m.   These seminars focus on specific issues of interest to international business, such as documentation of shipments.  For more information phone the Office of International Affairs at 575-4314.

In most cases it is beneficial to develop domestic business operations before expanding offshore. The City of Colorado Springs Office of Economic Development maintains a Directory of Business Resources in Colorado Springs which lists various governmental offices and agencies which can assist in the establishment of small businesses. This directory contains names, addresses, and phone numbers, etc. for the various business Chambers, Environmental Agencies, Finance, Insurance, International Trade Information, Licensing and many other categories.
