The Colorado Springs World Affairs Council is a non-profit organization affiliated with the World Affairs Councils of American in Washington. D.C. The purpose of the Council is to promote in Colorado Springs a better understanding of the political, cultural and economic issues of the world. The World Trade Center in Denver is a membership organization, which offers assistance and training to businesses engaged in international trade. The WTC Institute offers courses on such topics as International Commercial Terms. It presents speakers on particular subjects related to foreign trade and sponsors a monthly social event for firms with an interest in international business. The U.S. Export Assistance Center is an office of the U.S. Department of Commerce, which is responsible for assisting U.S. businesses to increase their exports. They can tap into the worldwide resources of the Department of Commerce to provide everything from market research to the selection of an agent or distributor.
