The Global Advisory Council (GAC) is a group of
Colorado
Springs leaders appointed by the Mayor and City
Council of
Colorado Springs. For information on membership you
may contact
George Boutin at the Office of International
Affairs.
The GAC was established by the Mayor and City
Council to develop and implement a global strategic
plan and
to recommend how best to increase involvement of
citizens
and organizations of Colorado Springs in world
affairs and
to assist the area’s businesses to enhance their
competitiveness
in the global marketplace.
The GAC is assisted by the Global Strategic Team
(GST). One
of the first actions the GAC and GST was to
establish the
Colorado Springs Office of International Affairs
(OIA). This
GAC/GST/OIA “team” publishes periodic newsletters
and provides links to information on travel and
tourism, maintains
extensive amounts of information and links on trade
development,
and is a portal for information, international
education and
cultural activities in Colorado Springs.
